Wind turbine tower is electric power equipment that converts wind energy into mechanical power, which drives the rotor to rotate and finally outputs alternating current. Wind turbine tower is generally composed of wind wheels, generators (including devices), deflectors (tail fins), towers, speed limiting safety mechanisms and energy storage devices.
It can be tubular or trellis. Tubular towers are safer for maintenance workers because they can reach the top by internal ladders. The advantage of trellis towers is that they are cheaper.
